Gethsemani tells the story of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemani (Gethemane). The reason why we have Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter. Our story takes place after the Last Supper. Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. The music was split into a few parts. Namely the lonely prayer of Jesus, the comfort from the angel sent by the Father, the strengthening and resolve to finish His Father’s will, and finally facing the coming of the betrayer. I’ve planned for “Gethsemani” to be part of a complete symphony/album titled, “Agnus Dei- The Lamb Of God”, which will tell Jesus’ journey on Palm Sunday till Resurrection Day on Easter.
